TERMINALIA CHEBULA - HARITAKI

Tibetans call this plant the queen of medicine, and it is also commonly referred to as "Buddha's fruit" or "the magic fruit.” One legend says that Haritaki rose from drops of Amrita , the nectar of eternal seed that fell to Earth from Heaven. It has a wide usage scope and is known for its complex effects. In the ancient Indian language Sanskrit, Haritaki means "ridding of all diseases.” This is also the reason the people of Asia use Haritaki as soon as they begin to suffer from various health problems.

In the folk medicine of the Himalayas, Haritaki is used for many ailments, especially as an aid for gastrointestinal problems. Even modern medicine is beginning to use Heritaki more. For example, research was conducted on its antibacterial effect against Helicobacter pylori, which would also indirectly aid in gastroprotection and preventive protection against gastritis, inflammation and gastric ulcers.

TERMINALIA BELLIRICA - BAHERA/BIBHITAKI

Bahera is one of the three components of the traditional Ayurvedic medicinal mixture Triphala. It contributes positively to digestion, excretion and intestinal mobility. It is a natural antioxidant and helps maintain normal liver function.

It has beneficial effects on the function of the gastrointestinal tract, especially on the function of bowel movement. It helps maintain normal levels of cholesterol and glucose in the blood, and thus supports the activity of the entire cardiovascular system. It also has a positive effect on mental condition and helps reduce stress. In Ayurvedic medicine, gentle natural laxatives have been used for centuries to relieve chronic constipation because they improve bowel mobility, and thus support regular bowel movements and remove undigested food and toxins from the digestive tract.

COMMON CHICORY - KASNI

Chicory root is one of the traditional herbs used to support liver and intestinal function, and these effects, as well as its contribution to lowering blood glucose, have been confirmed by modern scientific research. Chicory root also has a positive effect on the heart and vascular system.

In traditional medicine, chicory is also recommended for people who have a very sensitive stomach. The effectiveness of chicory extract to fight against certain types of bacteria, and in the treatment of gastrointestinal infections, has also been studied.

The  content of inulin and fructooligosaccharides, which are essentially dietary fibers, is important for proper digestive function. These dietary fibers are resistant to digestion and absorption in the small intestine; therefore, they reach the large intestine, practically unchanged. There they undergo fermentation under the influence of bacteria. The result is an increase in the total volume of stool and a decrease in its pH, which has a positive effect on the health of the intestinal mucosa. Inulin and fructooligosaccharides also have significant prebiotic effects; they act as a kind of substrate that supports the multiplication of probiotic bacteria, such as bifidobacteria or lactobacilli. As a result, they alleviate some digestive problems and streamline the digestive process.

The prebiotic growth promoting effect of probiotic microorganisms also results in improved immunity.

Fructooligosaccharides are compounds that promote the excretion of substances nicknamed satiety hormones (e.g. Peptide YY or incretins). The result is a relatively significant reduction in appetite, which is reflected in an automatic reduction in energy intake. Products containing fructooligosaccharides are thus suitable for optimal metabolism in reduction diets.

FRENCH TAMARISK - JHAVUKA

This natural antioxidant is mainly used to cleanse the body and to support the normal functioning of the liver. Antioxidants fight in the body against the adverse effects of harmful free radicals from the environment. In folk medicine, tamarisk is primarily used to aid the circulatory system. It supports the production of hemoglobin and helps cleanse the blood. Tamarisk also strengthens the body's mental resilience and is used to support mental well-being.

CAPPARIS SPINOSA (CAPER BUSH) - HIMSARA

The caper bush is known primarily for its beneficial effects on liver function and its ability to improve appetite. Toxic substances primarily have a negative effect on the cells of the liver parenchyma. These are the effects of alcohol, drugs, medicines, contraceptives, foreign substances present in food and other negative effects of the environment. Recently, modern medicine has also begun to study the positive influence of the caper bush in the proper function of digestion, peristalsis and in the treatment of  appetite loss.

MEDICAL EMBLICA – AMLA/AMALAKI

The small fruit of the Indian plant Phyllanthus emblica is nicknamed the celestial fruit or Indian gooseberry. It has an exceptional place in the system of Ayurvedic medicine and is often used in the Himalayas for the overall regeneration of the organism, to support digestion and to aid in treating liver ailments.
